After that the festival grew from year to year. Towards the end of the 19th century, the Oktoberfest became more and more popular with today's popular festival. It was extended in time and moved to the most beautiful and warm last September day because of the old-westerly summer. Since then, only the last weekend in Wiesnwochen falls in October.

The Oktoberfest in Munich is the largest folk festival in the world. It has been held on the Theresienwiese in the Bavarian state capital Munich since 1810.
